Hi,

Dec 9, 2013 - I just received my new XPS 8700 with Win 7 Pro and experienced the same issue. There is no reference to a USB controller in the list. Dec 11, 2013  After doing a clean install of Windows 7 I am missing drivers. Listed in other devices are: Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, and SM Bus Controller. After looking around the forums is looks like the only thing I. I've also tried plugging the other drives into the USB 3.0 ports that the Seagate drives have issues with (and vice versa) and the other drives work fine, the Seagate drives don't. It's specifically Seagate + Windows 8.1 + Dell XPS 8700 + USB 3.0 = random disconnects that can't be fixed without rebooting.

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I will be glad to help you.
