Pros: worked well for a little while
Cons: slow receiving, as it had to come from china or some foreign place, it was about 3 weeks after the order it arrived
s I said the drive worked well for a while. then I had to go into the folder for the drive and try to eject the dvd that way (the button would not work), the it stopped ejecting altogether manually. I had to keep a dvd in there to help with opening the tray. Now the tray does not open no matter what I do, it's as thoiugh it's off the track (guess I should have got a service contract)
i'm ordering another brand to replae this one and hope it's not delivered from overseas.

Other Thoughts: I've already ripped hundreds of movies with 3 of these in an array to migrate my DVD collection to a PLEX media server. I've never had issues with any movies being out of sync, having any distortions, or any other sign that the drive is having read errors. Its also fast, reading ahead an upwards of 400fps with Quadro acceleration on DVD Fab. They also have been able to save a few discs that my ASUS Bluray drive couldn't read, however its not the magic bullet to save them all.
LG is a good brand, this is a good drive, and it was a good price. What more could you ask?

Other Thoughts: Can't complain for less than $20. The CD/DVD is a medium that is aged out anyway so for a spend of $20 you can't be too picky. Haven't tried burning CDs/DVDs yet. At this point I doubt I'll ever have to.

Pros: Works great. quiet efficient and reliable. Use it to load a lot of older music disc and programs. I watch on blue ray movies every now and then. Can't complain. Burns disks like a boss.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: LG is a good brand. I have a monitor, an air conditioner and TV made by them. I'd choose them first over most brands.
