I've been trying to get my PS3 controller to work on my PC and I've done the exact steps all the You Tube videos have shown me, yet nothing seems to work. I've been using dem SCP drivers or whatever instead of motioninjoy (because apparently it's dangerous) So I was wondering if someone could please help me out, because sometimes the You Tube. Jan 28, 2019 - SCP Driver Package is an open-source driver which allows for DS2 (DualShock 2), DS3, and DS4 to work natively on Microsoft Windows. Windows will. Putting a controller to sleep will not actually fully turn it off. Its controller.

Hi banekrayt,

a) Which Operating System do you have?

SCP Driver is a product of Scarlet Crush Productions. Essentially, it's just driver software to make a Ps3 controller usable as a virtual xbox 360 controller. It's basically motioninjoy without the stubborn driver conflicts and user interface. Note that after you set it to Automatic Delayed Start, start or restart the service to get it working if it's not working already. The original by Scarlet.Crush: http.

By default the drivers will be placed and software

in C:Program Files

Restart Windows – when it starts to boot up again, hit F8 just after the BIOS does its POST. Select “Disable driver signature enforcement” - this is very important!

Update: You can permanently disable driver signature enforcement from within Windows. Run a Command window (cmd.exe) as administrator, and enter the following:

  • bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
  • bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

Doing this prevents you from having to reboot when installing and using these drivers. It will add a “Test Mode” logo on the bottom right of desktop, to remind you that driver signature enforcement is permanently disabled.

Plug in your Playstation 3 controller. If you haven’t done this before, you will see that some basic Windows drivers are installed. This might lead you to believe that the controller will work right away, but unfortunately it won’t.

From the Start button, run the “Install USB driver” under the “MotioninJoy” folder for the appropriate connection method you’ll be using. Make sure to right click and “Run as administrator” or the driver will not install properly.

(Right click, then click “Run as Administrator)

After the driver installs, a Notepad window will pop up, showing you the driver install log. This is what a successful install looks like, on Windows 7 x64:

Restart Windows again.

At this point, the center light on your controller should not be blinking. This is a good indication that it is working.

Now run the “DS3 Tool” program from the Start button. If you followed the directions properly, the main screen should look like this

Note that the controller is listed at the top. If it doesn’t show up, then you did something wrong. The first thing you should probably do is re-run the “Install USB Drivers” as admin, making sure no error messages pop up.

You can now run the controller with whatever features you wish. I’m not sure if there is a reason not to enable all functionality. Perhaps Performance could be an issue, so only enable the features you need.

If you followed the guide correctly, you should see your controller listed, and have full control of all the inputs. On my first attempt, I neglected to “Run as administrator” so I only saw the controller listed, but had no contol over it.

If you see that dialog, you did it wrong, and the driver did not install . Make sure to hit F8 when you boot Windows, or set it to Test Mode using the commands listed above, and make sure you Run the USB Driver Install as Administrator!

Finally, we have a decent gamepad to use in Windows, including 64-bit. Enjoy! Thanks to the folks at MotionInJoy for creating this driver.

*Note* Keep in mind that installing unsigned drivers is considered by Microsoft

to be a major security issue (or a major source of income, depending on who you listen to), so to use these drivers on a 64-bit OS, you will need to use F8 to boot every time. There are ways to permanently disable signed drivers in 64-bit Windows, but it is considered a major security flaw to do so, and is a major hassle to set up (and is constantly being patched by Microsoft). This will be the case with any unofficial driver release, not just these ones.

*Another Note* If you are having troubles getting the drivers to work after rebooting, even after using “F8″, try running the driver install script again . These drivers aren’t perfect, and can be a bit finicky, but they do work. And I think they are the only ones that work in 64-bit. 32-bit users might prefer to use the old drivers we talked about, if you do not need to use bluetooth .

Azeez Nadeem - Microsoft Support

Controller support is limited on Windows PCs. While the latest generation of console controllers will work out of the box with Windows, even last-generation gamepads like the PlayStation 3’s DualShock 3 require custom drivers.

A previous version of this article detailed the use of MotioninJoy to use your Sony PS3 controller as a joystick on your Windows PC. Unfortunately, MotioninJoy was a proprietary piece of software that turned into malware over the years. Luckily, you don’t have to infect your computer, as there is an open-source alternative in ScpToolkit. Don’t use MotioninJoy.

How to Install ScpToolkit

ScpToolkit has to modify some system drivers to make the controller work, so it’s not the safest install process. Proceed with caution, follow our instructions, and don’t click anything you don’t understand.

Download the latest release of ScpToolkit from the project’s Github page, open up the setup program, and agree to the Terms and Conditions—if you read them, of course. You’ll be shown a dialog with a list of install options:

You probably don’t need the Gamepad Analyzer and Debug Info Collector, but you should install everything else.

The installation process will take a few minutes. You should take this time to find your PS3 controller and plug it in with a USB cable. After the utility is done installing the toolkit, it will ask you to run the driver installer. Click “Run,” and you’ll be shown a list which should now include your controller.

Click the “Initialize All Connected Devices” button (don’t skip through with next button), let it install, and then click “Next.” This will configure the controller to be recognized as a PS3 controller, and install some drivers.

The next screen is for Bluetooth support, which you may not want because it requires a dedicated Bluetooth dongle to be “sacrificed.” Rightly so, there’s a huge “WARNING” label on this screen, because installing it to a wireless mouse dongle on accident will cause you to have a very bad time.

If you really want wireless support, you’ll need to plug in the sacrificial dongle, make sure it’s the ONLY device in the list, and then click “Initialize All Connected Devices.”

Otherwise, feel free to hit “Next” and skip this process. How to download game killer without cydia.

The next step is installing a virtual Xbox 360 Controller driver, which will trick Windows into thinking your PS3 controller is an Xbox 360 controller. This will make it work for more games.

To install the driver, click “Install virtual Xbox 360 Controller driver” and click “Next.”

After that, ScpToolkit will want to install a Windows Service to handle communication with the controller.

Click “Install Windows Service” and click “Next.” You’re now done, and you should be able to use your PS3 controller in any game that supports Xbox 360 controllers. That’s practically every game that supports a controller, so go nuts. You can also remap the controller’s buttons to make it work in other games.
